Following the success of our Regional Capability Trainer pilot, we are looking for a
Regional Capability Trainer
to join our
Laverton
workshop in Melbourne. You will provide classroom, workshop hands-on, and technical training for Heavy Vehicle Technician Apprentices and new Technicians.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Coach and develop less experienced technicians and apprentices to independently undertake troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on Cummins products.
Delivery of Diesel Engine Fundamentals and Basic Diagnostic training to all apprentices in the region.
Participate in monthly Capability Trainer meetings and provide updates on progress against Heavy Vehicle Mechanical milestone training plan for the apprentices in your branch/region.
Provide stakeholder updates and regularly communicate your training program delivery schedule with Supervisors, Workshop Manager and Service Manager.
Maintain a focus on apprentice safety by participating in extended pre-start meetings to ensure their understanding of workplace hazards and risk.
Participate in the annual Apprentice Onboarding Program.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Advanced level knowledge of and experience with Heavy Duty Engine products is essential.
Previous experience providing technical advice and coaching to apprentices/technicians (preferred).
Possess or be willing to work towards achievement of Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
Minimum 4 years post trade apprenticeship completion preferred.
Candidates must be based in Melbourne, and willing to travel across the region as required.
Qualifications
Additional Information:
Location: Laverton, VIC (with up to 25% travel required per year)
Reports to: Training Manager, APAC with a dotted line to the Laverton Service Manager.
Salary & Benefits: This position is paid fortnightly (wage), with overtime opportunities available.
