**Heavy Vehicle Trainer Role**

We are seeking a skilled trainer to provide technical instruction and hands-on training for Heavy Vehicle Technician Apprentices and new Technicians in Melbourne.

  • Deliver classroom and workshop training to develop the skills of less experienced technicians and apprentices, enabling them to independently undertake troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on Cummins products.
  • Cover Diesel Engine Fundamentals and Basic Diagnostic training for all apprentices in the region.
  • Participate in regular meetings with other trainers to discuss progress against Heavy Vehicle Mechanical milestone training plans for apprentices.
  • Maintain open communication with supervisors, workshop managers and service managers regarding your training program delivery schedule.
  • Focus on apprentice safety by participating in extended pre-start meetings to ensure they understand workplace hazards and risk.
  • Contribute to the annual Apprentice Onboarding Program.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of and experience with Heavy Duty Engine products is essential.
  • Prior experience providing technical guidance and coaching to apprentices/technicians is preferred.
  • You should possess or be willing to obtain a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • A minimum of 4 years post-trade apprenticeship completion is preferred.

Candidates must be based in Melbourne, with willingness to travel across the region as required.
