. This role supports the ParentsNext program, a government initiative designed to assist eligible parents to plan and prepare for employment by the time their children go to school. It operates in all non-remote areas of Australia. The role works with disadvantaged parents to help them prepare for return to the workforce by setting education and employment goals, developing a pathway plan, and linking clients to services and activities in the local community to overcome barriers to employment.
Responsibilities
Empower customers by helping them identify individual education and employment goals
Provide career advice and labour market information on local employment and education opportunities
Collaboratively identify strategies to meet individual needs using a holistic approach
Engage with the local community to build relationships and coordinate referrals to community agencies
Assist customers to apply for jobs, develop and tailor CVs, prepare for interviews, understand employer expectations, and build employability skills
About You
Ability to build relationships within the community
Strong interpersonal communication, organisational skills and commitment to customer service
Empathetic approach with ability to build trust and rapport
Effective problem-solving skills
Hold or have the ability to obtain a Working with Vulnerable People or Children Check (or equivalent)
Hold a current driver's licence
