In this role, you will:
• Assess participants’ skills, strengths, and areas for development
• Provide a high level of support to participants in line with their NDIS goals
• Support career planning and develop tailored employment pathways
• Build strong relationships with local employers and create job opportunities through customised employment and reverse marketing activities
• Facilitate work experience placements and skills development programs
• Liaise with schools to support transitions from education to employment
• Plan and deliver contextual learning activities based on individual needs and goals
• Connect participants with training organisations, apprenticeships, and further education opportunities
• Liaise with Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) providers to expand opportunities and networks for participants
• Provide ongoing guidance, encouragement, and practical support to participants on their journey to work
• Record participant progress and shift notes accurately using online software
• Work with participants in their homes and in community settings
• Apply professional communication, both written and verbal, always
• Maintain a strong understanding of personal and professional boundaries
• Excellent active listening skills and the ability to converse with participants at various levels
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
• A strong understanding of employment pathways and barrier management for people living with disability
• Excellent communication and networking skills with employers, schools, training providers, and Inclusive Employment Australia service providers
• Experience in career planning, job readiness, or disability employment services (DES/IEA/NDIS experience highly regarded)
• Innovative problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and reduce barriers for participants, supporting greater independence and outcomes. The ability to take a solutions-focused approach, proactively identifying risks, addressing business needs, and implementing effective strategies to mitigate challenges for employers.
• A solution-focused, proactive, and compassionate approach to supporting participants to achieve their goals
• Strong organisational and documentation skills to record progress and outcomes
Requirements
• Valid driver’s licence and access to a registered, fully insured vehicle
• Current Blue Card and Yellow Card/Worker Screening (or willingness to obtain)
• Current Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module (free online)
• COVID-19 Infection Control Training (to be completed prior to commencement)
