**About this Opportunity**
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role will be responsible for leading a team of Mechanical Fitters and Contractors in coordinating planned and reactive mechanical maintenance on plant and equipment to assist in meeting factory operational efficiency targets.
Key accountabilities include:
- Work with team members in managing the completion of planned and unplanned maintenance works as required to ensure reliable operation of all areas of the factory, ensuring minimum plant down time.
- Increase the sites operational effectiveness through improvements on project delivery, downtime reduction initiatives and completion of root-cause analysis for repeated breakdowns ensuring that a standard approach is taken.
- Coordinate rosters and induct, coach and manage day to day performance and development of team members to ensure all objectives are achieved.
- Ensure all work carried out by contractors, service technicians and teams members is completed as required and meets required standards.
- Implement and manage continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes.
- Improve planned and predicative maintenance standards including assisting with determining spare parts to meet reasonable requirements
- Ensure compliance with all company and industry regulations and standards in the manufacturing process
**About You**
To succeed in this role you will need:
- A Trade Qualification as a Mechanical Fitter;
- Previous experience in engineering maintenance preferably working within a Dairy or FMCG industry;
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Organisational and planning abilities
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- The ability to work productively, efficiently and effectively with initiative and drive, under tight timescales and pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail and quality
- A willingness to learn, improve and adapt
- Flexibility to provide after-hours support to site as required
