**Financial Coordinator**

**The role**

This role is a casual contract 30-35 hours per week

The Financial Coordinator is responsible for:
1. Make quality dentistry financially available to patients

2. Communicate with patients regarding their treatment plan

3. Identify the best way to finance the recommended treatment

4. Make appropriate financial arrangements with patients

**Qualifications**

An individual must fulfill each essential duty as listed below to perform this job successfully.

**Essential Duties**

1. Call on and manage patient debtor accounts

2. Daily Reconciliation of Medicare, Hicaps, Eftpos, Zip, Afterpay Cash and bank transfers.

3. Investigate rejected medicare claims

4. Sending and managing patients' payment plans and loans from invitation to settlement

6. Management of patients prepayments and deposits

7. Management of Local Area Health Authority vouchers and payments

8. Prepare a financial action plan by reviewing the patients for the next day and determining their financial needs and status, be prepared to collect monies due

9. Run all requested reports

10. Process EOB's and requests for additional information

11. Document financial arrangements in the patient file

12. Schedule financial arrangements after the exam and consultation and before treatment

13. Record all verbal discussions regarding with the patient in their file

14. Present a treatment plan, using models and diagrams, and provide related literature

15. Monthly compiling of lab invoices for dentist commissions/deductions

16. Ensuring correct financial consent is accurately recorded in patient file (eg, CDBS consent)

**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities**

1. Knowledge of English composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation

2. Skilled in the use of standard office equipment, including telephones, calculators, copiers, fax, computers, and computer software (MS Excel, Word, Practice Management software)

3. Ability to maintain composure and professionalism when exposed to stressful situations

4. Ability to engender trust from the doctors, co-workers, and patients

5. Ability to work cooperatively with management, staff, and patients

6. Ability to prioritize, organize, and complete tasks in a timely and independent manner

7. Ability to accept constructive criticism

8. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions

9. Ability to collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and maintain confidentiality

10. Ability to communicate and express thoughts and ideas competently

11. Ability to quickly grasp relevant concepts regarding duties and responsibilities

12. Has a positive attitude about the practice, the services provided, and the products sold

13. Increases knowledge and skills through self-study and by attending courses and seminars

14. Has dependable job attendance and can be relied on the follow through with assigned tasks

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
