TSA Homelessness Melbourne Metro is committed to providing person centred care, trauma informed practice and a strengths-based approach to improve the health, wellbeing and housing outcomes for people experiencing homelessness.

Service Profile

The Homelessness Melbourne Metro region is a large Homelessness provider in the inner city of Melbourne and provides a comprehensive range of residential & community services across seven sites in St Kilda, Footscray, North Melbourne, West Melbourne & Kensington.

Community programs include the Crisis Contact Centre, Community Outreach Services for single adults, support for older people in public housing, rough sleeper & street sleeping initiatives, community participation and AOD support.

Homelessness Melbourne Metro is supported by co-located services including the TSA Chaplaincy program, Bolton Clarke primary health service and NDIS support coordination. We are committed to working with the most disadvantaged, marginalised and complex members of our community to support them in recovering from their experience of trauma and homelessness.

Residential services operate from the Open Door in North Melbourne and Flagstaff in West Melbourne. Our services are all close to close to public transport and parking.

About the role

We currently are seeking values driven, 3 Team Leaders to work permanent full time and lead our residential services case managers at Open Door and Flagstaff. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award Level 6.

Flagstaff residential facility w operates 24 hours/day, 7 days per week. The service provides 64 beds, and the priority group is men experiencing homelessness who have high needs, complexity, or vulnerability.

The Open-Door Residential Services provides support to 38 single men experiencing homelessness with a history of trauma, disadvantage, mental health and chronic health issues. The programs focus is to assist vulnerable and or at-risk residents maintain good health, improve well-being and develop capability on a pathway towards reaching their personal potential.

We are looking for 3 inspirational team leaders:

- That can lead cultural and programmatic change
- Is passionate about social justice and ending homelessness
- Experienced in high quality service delivery and creating high functioning teams

Responsibilities include:

- Leading an effective and high functioning team of Case Managers who provide holistic case planning support to residents at Flagstaff and The Open Door and ongoing outreach support upon exit from TSA Residential services
- Supporting the Case Management Team to provide services and support that is Person
- Centred, Strengths Based and Trauma Informed
- Ensuring practice models, program guidelines and service delivery targets are achieved

You will have
- Degree qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or related field
- Demonstrated high level of sector knowledge and skills attained through previous appointments, service and study/development
- Relevant experience in supervising and coaching staff and managing change
- Resilience, flexibility and adaptability
- Creative outcome focused attitude
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
- Advanced communication, written & organisational skills
- Ability to ensure service delivery outcomes meet the required target
- Strong AOD practitioner experience
- Ability to manage crisis situations
- Initiative to solve service delivery challenges
- Current and valid VIC Employee Working with Children Check
- Current and valid VIC Drivers Licence
- Ability to provide proof of work eligibility in Australia
