**About the role...**
The Manager - Governance position leads a highly professional and customer focused Governance team that compromises of a Senior Governance Specialist, Governance Officers and Executive Assistant to the Mayor & Councillors which forms part of the broader Information, Technology & Governance Department.
The position leads and develops the team of professionals to provide Civic and Corporate governance expertise to the organisation, project manage governance related initiatives and manage Council's governance systems in order to support the achievement of the Council's Strategic Vision. The position is responsible for ensuring that the governance services meet legislative requirements and are delivered to best match the customers' requirements through customer engagement.
With a continuous improvement mindset, the position will establish and manage plans for the future that meet legislative requirements and strategic needs of Council. The position will also oversee the management of the Policy Governance Framework, maintain a Road Map for all process improvements, be involved in the Councils Committee system, contribute towards the broader Information, Technology & Governance Department plans and contribute to the resolution of operational problems.
This position has a regular requirement to attend Council meetings so after hours is a requirement of the position.
Incumbents in this position must be willing to gain and possess a satisfactory National Criminal History Clearance.

You will also have a sound understanding of and willingness to maintain political, commercial and personal confidentiality in the workplace.
