**About the role**

To support our success we are looking for a Team Leader, External Financial Advice Assurance to join the Advice Best Practice team.

The primary role of this position is to lead the EFA (External Financial Advice) Assurance team within Advice Best Practice. This role is accountable for leading, coaching and motivating a team of EFA advice assurance specialists who will be responsible for ensuring the EFA adviser channel within Australian Retirement Trust is well governed and meets it legislative requirements within ART's risk tolerance for advice. The EFA assurance team monitors the provision of advice by EFA and referral panel advisers and develops and manages the advice best practice aspects of the EFA strategy for ART. The role of this team is to reduce operational risk to Australian Retirement Trust, whilst maintaining our compliance obligations and quality framework for EFA advice.

This role requires specialist knowledge in the financial advice and superannuation industry with a strong market and industry awareness. In this role you will be accountable for risk management, reporting, insights, and recommendations to advice leadership. The role will work closely with the other team leaders within the Advice Best Practice team, as well as the Adviser Growth team and administration teams within the business.

As a leadership role within the business, you will be responsible for developing and coaching your team whilst driving a culture aligned to our organisation's behaviours and ambitions. You will also identify, leverage and implement continuous improvement for efficiency and effectiveness of the advice business while building the capability of your team.

This role is available as a permanent opportunity.

**About you**

If this is the right role for you, your skills and qualifications will include:

- Demonstrated experience and understanding of risk governance and quality assurance evaluation frameworks within financial advice or financial services team context.
- Highly developed understanding of how to identify, assess and control existing and emerging business risks according to our internal Risk Management framework.
- Knowledge of the superannuation and financial advice industry, relevant technical and legislative information, market and industry awareness and a comprehensive understanding of the regulatory requirements associated with the provision of financial advice;
- Expert knowledge of ASIC and APRA regulations required of superannuation trustees as they relate to financial advice and EFA advice fee payments.
- Ability to think and plan strategically with a commercial focus and respond to emerging issues and develop appropriate strategies and plans;
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills;
