**About the role**

To support our success we are looking for a Team Leader, Advice Assurance to join the Advice Best Practice team based in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.

The primary purpose of this position is to lead the Advice Assurance team within Advice Best Practice. This role is accountable for leading, coaching and motivating a team of advice assurance specialists (for both personal and general advice) who will be monitoring, supervising and developing the financial advice provided within the Australian Retirement Trust internal financial advice teams (predominantly for the Sunsuper Financial Services AFSL (Australian Financial Services Licence)). The role of this team is to reduce operational risk to Australian Retirement Trust and the relevant advice AFSL's, whilst maintaining our compliance obligations and quality framework across factual and general advice service delivery.

This role requires specialist knowledge in the superannuation and financial planning industry with a strong market and industry awareness. In this role you will be accountable for risk management, reporting, insights, and recommendations to advice leadership. The role will work closely with the other team leaders within the Advice Best Practice team, especially with the other Team Leader, Advice Assurance (predominantly for QInvest Limited) and the Advice Coaching and Capability Team Leader to collectively deliver all coaching, monitoring and supervision, upskilling, training and education for the AFSL's and other advice staff.

As a leadership role within the business, you will be responsible for developing and coaching your team whilst driving a culture aligned to our organisation's behaviours and ambitions. You will also identify, leverage and implement continuous improvement for efficiency and effectiveness of the advice business while building the capability of your team.

This role is available as a permanent opportunity.

**About you**

If this is the right role for you, your skills and qualifications will include:

- Demonstrated experience and understanding of risk governance and quality assurance evaluation frameworks within financial advice or financial services team context;
- Highly developed understanding of how to identify, assess and control existing and emerging business risks according to our internal Risk Management framework.
- Knowledge of the superannuation and financial advice industry, relevant technical and legislative information, market and industry awareness and a comprehensive understanding of the regulatory requirements associated with the provision of financial advice;
- Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities to guide and motivate staff in the achievement of objectives;
- Ability to think and plan strategically with a commercial focus and respond to emerging issues and develop appropriate strategies and plans;
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills;
- Possess highly attuned empathy and communication skills
