**Key Duties and Accountabilites**:

- Promote the Native Title Service Unit's activities, including operational and strategic planning, budgeting, monitoring and reporting on performance and outputs, deployment and utilisation of resources to meet departmental goals.
- Provide leadership in the development and delivery of the department's native title operational policy and regulatory direction for the mining and petroleum, gas, greenhouse gas and geothermal sectors.
- Represent the state and manage native title negotiations regarding mining, petroleum, greenhouse gas and geothermal resource authorities.
- Provide and coordinate advice, information and support on native title issues to the Executive Director, senior officers and clients on native title processes for mining, petroleum and greenhouse gas and geothermal tenure approvals.
- Coordinate and provide advice on the delivery of native title policies and procedures for the state.
- Develop and promote strategies and programs allowing for all stakeholders to participate and engage meaningfully within the native title environment.
- Exercise judgement, authority and influence to effectively manage the delivery of multiple and competing business priorities.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships and partnerships with clients and other stakeholders and other State Government and Commonwealth agencies.
- Represent Department of Resources at State/Commonwealth conferences, internal/external meetings and committees and interdepartmental/inter jurisdictional working groups.
- Prepare and/or oversee the preparation of submissions, briefing notes, legislation and other regulatory instruments, presentations, speeches, publications and correspondence relating to Native Title matters for mining and petroleum.
- Other duties as directed and required.
