This role sits within our Projects and Asset Services department.

**About our opportunity**

As our Manager of the Asset Management department you will be providing strategic leadership and direction to the Asset Management department, responsible for the development and implementation of the Asset Management frameworks, policies, strategic planning documents and continuous improvement initiatives (including digital innovation) to deliver quality outcomes across all Council assets.

More specifically you will be providing strategic leadership and direction in the development of frameworks for a whole of life asset focus as well as leading and managing Council's approach to Asset Management - including the development of policies, procedures, guidelines and improvement while also ensuring compliance with legislation and Council policy.

You will be developing and managing the prioritisation and allocation of the infrastructure budget, developing and managing the implementation of renewal modelling across all asset classes using timely and accurate asset condition information and leading and managing the identification, verification and cleansing of asset information within Council's asset management and spatial systems - ensuring asset data is highly accurate and up to date.

You will lead and manage the implementation and improvement of smart city initiatives throughout the division, manage the survey services branch to deliver quality and timely survey services throughout the organisation and manage the development of data, dashboard analytics, business improvement initiatives across the division, system initiatives and process improvement actions related to the Asset Management function.

Additionally you will be providing strategic and operational advice and expertise to Council and key stakeholders on asset management matters and digital innovation, ensuring that best practice Asset Management systems and practices are developed and continuously monitored across the organisation while aligning with legislative and regulatory requirements.

This position will have you collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring quality strategic asset management outcomes are achieved and infrastructure investment is prioritised effectively as well as leading and fostering a high performance, continuous improvement and customer focused team culture where innovation and new ideas can be constructively explored and implemented.

**About you**

***To be successful in this position you will have:

- extensive experience leading an Asset Management function at a strategic level in a large and complex organisation
- extensive knowledge and experience in managing Asset Management systems and databases, with capabilities in system implementation and reconfiguration
- experience leading and managing a multi disciplinary team of professionals
- extensive knowledge of local government, state and federal legislation relevant to the function
- experience in developing and managing budgets and carrying out financial modelling
- experience and ability in handling change management initiatives
- experience providing high level strategic and operational advice to stakeholders

You will have a commitment to continuous improvement, a high level of presentation and communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to influence and negotiate integrated and sustainable outcomes and you will be analytical and outcome focussed with high level experience in the development and implementation of strategy and policy as well as leading organisational and cultural change.

Additional to the above listed experience, you will hold tertiary qualifications in engineering, business, finance or other relevant disciplines.
