An excellent opportunity has become available for a highly motivated and passionate Network Technical Specialist to join the Government Assurance Team.
**The opportunity**:
As a Network Technical Specialist, you will provide support to Federal Government customers that are utilising a range of Telstra products and services including Managed Data Networks and associated tiers including Managed Routers, LAN, Wireless WAN, Wireless LAN and WAN Optimisation solutions as well as Telstra's Unified Communication Solutions. We are looking for someone who is willing to learn, take on new experiences and help lead the way with these experiences. This role is based in Sydney or Canberra and is on a 24x7 rotating roster.
**Your key responsibilities and major tasks include, but are not limited to**:
- Proactively monitor Secure Federal Government networks to identify current and impending network faults.
- Perform basic routing and switch troubleshooting and provide assistance during the incident management process to quickly and effectively restore network functionality.
- Perform a range of work required for scheduled Changes to support Government Operations and Project work.
- Assist in identifying and documenting improvements to existing processes and procedures that align to business unit procedures.
- Responsible for liaising directly with customers and working to positively influence the end-to-end customer experience.
- Adhere to the company and customer policies and procedures.
**Enough about us, let's talk about you. To hit the ground running we are looking for individuals who can confidently demonstrate the following**:
- Hold a minimum of NV1 AGSVA Baseline security clearance
- Basic routing and switching skills including knowledge and troubleshooting ability of TCP/IP, routing protocols, and link layer protocols.
- Demonstrated experience in an IT support role
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to demonstrate these skills.
- Proven experience in CISCO, Juniper and/or Linux - _Highly Desirable _
- Technical Certification/Diploma level qualifications (or equivalent) - _Highly Desirable_
