Qualifications & experience

  • Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a similar caregiving role is preferred.
  • DHS Disability Clearance/NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build trusting relationships with individuals and their families.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle is preferred.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Foster a safe and inclusive environment that promotes independence, dignity, and respect for each individual.
  • Encourage and facilitate community participation and engagement for individuals, including accompanying them to social and recreational activities.
  • Administer medication and provide basic medical assistance, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  • Monitor and document individual progress, behaviors, and any incidents in accurate and timely reports.
  • Communicate effectively with individuals, their families, and other team members to ensure coordinated and person-centered care.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
