The Team
The HR team provides services that enable our people to thrive. We deliver a wide range of human resource functions including recruitment and onboarding, workplace relations, learning and development, workforce planning, diversity and inclusion, and safety and wellbeing. We work in partnership with business areas to provide trusted advice and solutions that support organisational objectives while enhancing the employee experience.
The role
As an APS5 HR Generalist, you will contribute to the delivery of HR services across a variety of functions. Reporting to an HR Team Leader, you will provide advice, guidance and support to managers and employees, while ensuring compliance with legislation, policy, and organisational frameworks. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to projects and initiatives that enhance HR processes, capability and culture.
In this role you will :
Provide advice on HR policies, procedures, and processes, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and frameworks (e.g. Public Service Act 1999, Fair Work Act 2009).
Deliver HR services across areas such as recruitment and onboarding, learning and development, workforce planning, workplace relations and wellbeing.
Assist managers and employees with HR enquiries, ensuring timely, accurate and customer-focused support.
Contribute to the development and review of HR policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Support HR projects and initiatives that promote diversity, inclusion, employee engagement and organisational capability.
Maintain accurate records and utilise HR systems effectively.
Build strong relationships with stakeholders and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
To be successful in the role you will :
Demonstrate knowledge and experience across a range of HR functions.
Apply sound judgement to provide practical advice and solutions within HR frameworks and policy.
Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships.
Manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within agreed timeframes.
Show initiative and contribute to process improvements and HR projects.
Have a customer-focused approach and a commitment to supporting positive workplace culture.
Qualifications in HR or a related discipline are desirable.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for this position you must :
Be an Australian Citizen at the closing date of application.
Be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the required level.
