VACCA - Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency is seeking a Senior Case Manager - Family Services.

Overview
The role will work closely with the parent/carer, family unit, key partners, and stakeholders to provide an integrated response to deliver a family support service to Aboriginal children and families to address identified support needs. The Case Manager will empower families to share their story in a culturally appropriate and trauma-informed way, through engagement, information gathering, planning processes and ensuring active family involvement in decision making at each phase towards self-determination.
Responsibilities
Engage with Aboriginal families and children using strengths-based, culturally appropriate and trauma-informed approaches.
Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine family needs and formulate appropriate interventions.
Review assessment reports, safety plans and goal plans as required.
Provide mentorship to new and existing staff to develop relevant skills and knowledge.
Collaborate with parent/carer, family unit, partners and stakeholders to deliver integrated family support services.
Qualifications and experience
Commitment to VACCA's values and mission.
Diploma, degree, or equivalent in Social Work or Community Services, or related field.
Minimum 4 years of industry experience.
Experience engaging with Aboriginal families and children.
Knowledge of Family Violence and Child Protection sectors.
Ability to engage and support families toward agreed goals using strengths-based, culturally appropriate and trauma-informed methods.
Demonstrated ability to complete comprehensive assessments and formulate interventions.
Ability to mentor staff and support skill development.
Requirements: valid Police Check, Working with Children's Check (or willingness to obtain), Victorian Driver Licence, and current COVID-19 vaccination (strongly recommended).
