Salary: A$100,783 - A$105,349 plus superannuation and salary package
Overview
The role will work closely with the parent/carer, family unit, key partners, and stakeholders to provide an integrated response to deliver a family support service to Aboriginal children and families to address identified support needs. The Case Manager will empower families to share their story in a culturally appropriate and trauma-informed way, through engagement, information gathering, planning processes and ensuring active family involvement in decision making at each phase towards self-determination.
Responsibilities
- Engage with Aboriginal families and children using strengths-based, culturally appropriate and trauma-informed approaches.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine family needs and formulate appropriate interventions.
- Review assessment reports, safety plans and goal plans as required.
- Provide mentorship to new and existing staff to develop relevant skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with parent/carer, family unit, partners and stakeholders to deliver integrated family support services.
Qualifications and experience
- Commitment to VACCA's values and mission.
- Diploma, degree, or equivalent in Social Work or Community Services, or related field.
- Minimum 4 years of industry experience.
- Experience engaging with Aboriginal families and children.
- Knowledge of Family Violence and Child Protection sectors.
- Ability to engage and support families toward agreed goals using strengths-based, culturally appropriate and trauma-informed methods.
- Demonstrated ability to complete comprehensive assessments and formulate interventions.
- Ability to mentor staff and support skill development.
- Requirements: valid Police Check, Working with Children's Check (or willingness to obtain), Victorian Driver Licence, and current COVID-19 vaccination (strongly recommended).
