**What's the role?**
Reporting to the Executive General Manager Production, Property & Logistics, the General Manager,
National Logistics is responsible for the vision, strategy and performance of our Logistics function. Our
brands and mastheads are some of the most recognisable in Australia and the distribution of our
printed product plays an integral role in keeping our Customers informed and up-to-date. Our
distribution network covers the full width and breadth of Australia, ensuring that our customers receive
our printed products no matter how remote or central they are based. The GM of National Logistics
oversees the safe, timely and efficient distribution of our products ensuring that we are continuously
looking for new and innovative ways to meet our customer's needs. As a senior leader in our
Production, Property and Logistics team, your overarching responsibility is to the health, safety and
wellbeing of our employees and third party partners.
What you will deliver and how:
- Defining the Vision and Strategy for Logistics, will set the tone for the short and long term.The GM National Logistics will be responsible for developing each component and then communicating more broadly. A core component to the Vision will be defining a customer centric culture which must be aligned to the Values of our business.
- Strong internal relationships will forecast performance spikes, manage stakeholder expectations and quickly respond to any disruptions in distribution. By building rapport and trust across your key stakeholder group you will become an influencer of change and a decision maker for our business.
- Communication and transformation work hand in hand when implementing change. While delivering customer centric solutions you will need to consider the broader impacts of a logistics change by collaborating earlier with the key stakeholders across our business and our commercial partners.
- You will be responsible for setting the key metrics for performance across Logistics.
- Full accountability for the budget across National Logistics. Reporting, analysis and commentary provided on a quarterly basis.
- Review and implement a Logistics structure consistent with the vision and strategy for the function with consideration to leadership, future requirements and performance.
- Experienced with both metro and regional distribution, across line haul and short-trip distribution, you will look to optimise performance with a lens of safety, cost, efficiency as well as broader impact to key stakeholders.
