**The Role - Full time - 12 month fixed-term contract based in our Epping Head Office.**
Reporting to the Revenue & Billing Team Leader, this role works closely with the broader finance team and internal stakeholders including Facility Managers, Village Managers, Regional Managers, and Operations teams. You'll also engage externally with funding bodies such as the Department of Health and Aged Care, Medicare, NDIS Support Coordinators, solicitors, NSW Civil & Administrative Tribunal, residents, and their representatives to resolve billing inquiries, support compliance, and manage financial communication with empathy and professionalism.
**Key responsibilities include**:
- Manage fortnightly billing runs and direct debits for residents and clients
- Process changes to fees and funding arrangements efficiently
- Maintain and update client records in Epicor, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Issue monthly statements and respond promptly to account enquiries
- Process admissions, departures, and calculate termination refunds in line with regulations
- Ensure billing practices align with Aged Care legislation, prudential standards, and SCC policies
- Maintain strict confidentiality of resident and client data
- Escalate breaches or risks as soon as identified
- Proactively manage collections, payment plans, and overdue accounts
- Follow up on deferred payments or rejections to resolve promptly
- Represent SCC professionally in NCAT hearings and debt collection processes
- Contribute to month-end reconciliations, especially around Medicare payments
- Support automation, system upgrades, and process improvements
- Collaborate on financial reporting accuracy and quality improvement
**Education & Experience**
- At least 2 years' experience in a billing, accounts receivable, or finance support role
- Demonstrated experience in customer service and account reconciliation
- Experience in aged care, retirement living, home care, or health services (Desirable)
- Familiarity with government funding models (e.g., Medicare, NDIS, ACFI/AN-ACC) (Desirable)
- Debt collection experience and participation in process improvement initiatives (Desirable)
- TAFE or tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (Desirable)
**Skills & Competencies**
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable and billing practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex billing concepts clearly and compassionately
- Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail
- High level of discretion and respect for sensitive financial and personal information
