Centrecare is a not-for-profit organisation delivering counselling, support, accommodation, mediation and training services in multiple locations across Western Australia.
The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Mental Health Case Worker to support children, young people and their families working with the Child and Adolescent Forensic Service in the community or at Banksia Hill Detention Centre. The successful candidate will provide social, emotional, cultural, and/or mental health support to young people and their families through a case management model. The position is based in East Perth.
Provide social, emotional and/or mental health care to children, young people and their families who are clients of CAFS.
Provide cultural liaison and family engagement where relevant and provide cultural interpretations to the broader CAFS teams.
Work within a multidisciplinary environment to contribute to and enhance the provision of mental health assessments and relevant interventions.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case notes, documentation, and reports in compliance with organisational policies and requirements.
About You
Recognised tertiary level qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, Social Sciences, Aboriginal Studies or related disciplines. Demonstrated experience in the mental health sector and/or with young people.
Minimum 2 years experience in a similar position.
Ability to work full-time.
An understanding of strength-based approaches to client services.
Federal Police Clearance and Working with Children Card.
WA driver's licence and vehicle.
