Community Mental Health Professional

An exciting opportunity exists for a clinician with a strong interest in and commitment to mental health to join an experienced and dedicated community mental health team.
- Mental health triage and assessments for consumers within the community experiencing acute mental health problems.
- Mental health assessments in Ryde ED after hours.
- Short-term mental health treatment in the community, often as an alternative to hospital, including care coordination and longer-term case management as clinically indicated.
- Collaborative care-planning for consumers transferring between hospital and community, follow-up support, and onward referrals where appropriate.
- Brief therapeutic interventions, such as BIC based on the Project Air model for Personality Disorders.
- Working in a multidisciplinary team across a 7-day rotating roster with morning and afternoon shifts.
Key Requirements:
We are looking for a clinician with:
- Current AHPRA registration for relevant discipline - Psychology, Occupational Therapist, Registered Nurse, or Eligibility for membership with AASW for Social Workers.
- Demonstrated comprehensive mental health assessment and crisis intervention experience.
- Demonstrated experience and skills in suicide risk assessment and management.
- Experience working in community mental health and a demonstrated knowledge of the NSW Mental Health Act.
- Extensive case management/care co-ordination skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team setting.
- Current NSW Driver's license.
- Proficient in working with data systems and computer skills or/and knowledge of Microsoft Office Word software.
