Albury Wodonga Aboriginal Health Service (AWAHS) is a proud Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation. We deliver holistic, high-quality primary health care and family services for the Aboriginal community across Albury, Wodonga, and surrounding areas. We know that each person's story is unique. As a Mental Health Support Worker, you'll play a key role in walking alongside our clients and their families to strengthen resilience, promote social and emotional wellbeing, and reduce stigma around mental health in the community.

In this role, you will:
  • Build strong, respectful connections with clients, families, and carers
  • Provide case management and link clients with the right supports
  • Deliver culturally safe, holistic programs that support social and emotional wellbeing
  • Improve access to mental health services within the Aboriginal community
  • Empower community members to take charge of their own health and wellbeing
  • Work in partnership with mainstream health providers to enhance service delivery
What you'll bring:
  • Experience in the mental health sector and/or a relevant qualification in health, social, or behavioural sciences
  • Strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, with local community connections highly valued
  • Skills in goal setting and linking clients to the right people, services, and opportunities
  • Ability to build positive relationships with both clients and peers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong organisational skills
  • Commitment to teamwork, community care, and culturally safe practice
