Hse Coordinator

Our Role We are recruiting a Health, Safety, Environment, & Quality Specialist for our Mole Creek lime processing plant and quarry.
The town is less than an hour west of Launceston and 20 minutes from Deloraine.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role works with site leadership, relevant regional managers and others to complete, oversee and report on all site environmental, health and safety in line with Graymont, regulatory and statutory requirements.
The role also oversee the implementation and certification of our Quality Management System to ISO 9001.
The HSEQ Specialist will also ensure that all employees and contractors are trained in and understand their safety and environmental and responsibilities.
Key focus areas the role will include:As a safety, environmental & quality advocate to employees and contractors driving regulatory, legislative and company's best practice and compliance, you will:Drive improvements in way of working and safety culture with direct interaction with work teams on a daily basis.Report and investigate safety and environment accidents/incidents & develop recommendations for prevention and reoccurrence using ICAM investigation methologyRun injury management, medical surveillance programs, return to work programs and work cover investigationsMaintain the Site Safety Management System to ensure compliance with State mining regulations and company proceduresConduct environmental sampling, review results and report on site compliance to regulatory and environmental license conditionsAccompany auditors and regulatory inspectors during on-site inspections with the Site Manager.
Oversee any corrective actions arising from identified deficienciesDeliver training to employees including but not limited to sampling, testing, and knowledge of quality related company proceduresDevelop and coordinate site rehabilitation activitiesReport and investigate customer complaints and conduct internal quality system auditsIdeally, the successful candidate will have the following attributes and qualifications:The successful candidate will have tertiary qualifications in WH&S and environment management or equivalent.You have a high level of knowledge of relevant regulations, acts, and working with Government regulators.
You will have experience in implementing & auditing quality management systems against ISO 9001.
You have effective interpersonal and written communication skills and high level of attention to detail.You are well-rounded in using Microsoft office suite.You have the ability to constructively manage internal and external stakeholders to create substantial change and enjoy achieving results using a hands on approach.
You can work autonomously & hold a valid driver's license.
