BIS are currently recruiting for a skilled Workshop Coordinator to Coordinate the repair and maintenance of mobile plant and equipment in our large Tomago based workshop.

This position reports directly into to our Workshop Manager and comprises of a variety of duties including: running daily pre-starts. performing monthly workshop inspections, collecting and loading EOM statistics, and performing final cost reviews to name just a few.

**Key responsibilities for this role include**:

- Demonstrate commitment to our goal of Zero Harm;
- Provide effective leadership, direction, advice and support to the team, as required, promoting teamwork to accomplish the Business Units goals.
- Run daily pre-start meetings
- Complete monthly workshop inspections
- Provide safety advice and on the job management for Trades/Trades Assistants and Apprentices
- Supervise and mentor leading hands
- Perform quality control inspections
- Parts ordering control for initial project starts and major projects.
- Track and review labour/parts costs versus budget
- Assist with quoting new projects and final cost review of jobs.
- Assist the Workshop Manager in driving the business to deliver maximum financial returns and meet overall budget forecasts.
- Collaborate, support and build partnerships with internal and external key stakeholders
- Communicate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Perform any other general ad-hoc tasks as required.

**The successful applicant will possess**:

- Previous work history as a Tradesperson (Mechanical/Electrical) in a large-scale heavy industry leading different teams of tradespersons (2 + years minimum)
- Well-developed business acumen, critical thinking skills, and excellent understanding of operational and financial impacts.
- High level leadership skills - including the ability to coach, mentor, motivating and influencing.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and initiative
- Advanced MS Office suite skills
- Excellent organisation skills including the ability to manage fluctuating workloads and conflicting priorities;
- The ability to pass a pre-employment functional medical including a drug & alcohol test
