- Coordinate team priorities and workloads in partnership with the Resource Assessment Lead, guiding subsurface staff in delivering high-quality technical studies and managing exploration program execution.
- Oversee the Exploration asset disposal strategy, including the planning and execution of well abandonment and surface rehabilitation campaigns, ensuring compliance and environmental stewardship.
- Mentor and coach team members in Geoscience and play characterisation, fostering technical excellence and professional growth across the team.

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will come with extensive experience in upstream oil and gas, with a deep understanding of production management, together with demonstrated capability to plan, prioritise, and deliver high-value outcomes both independently and as part of a team.

**More about you**:

- 15+ years in the Oil & Gas sector, with a strong track record of leading high-performing subsurface technical teams.
- Tertiary qualification in a Geoscience discipline.
- Strategic expertise in play maturation, with proven success in developing and executing strategies that advance hydrocarbon opportunities from early exploration through to appraisal and development.
- Project and program management experience, particularly in subsurface data acquisition, ensuring technical excellence and operational efficiency.
- Ideally experience with Coal Seam Gas and Tight Gas sandstone reservoirs, particularly in Queensland or analogous geological settings.
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with a proven ability to shape and implement technical strategy across diverse teams and Joint Venture environments.
- Strong risk management mindset, with the ability to assess subsurface uncertainties, manage them effectively through project delivery, and clearly communicate risk-based decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Advanced leadership and project management capabilities, with experience leading cross-functional, on-site, and virtual teams to deliver complex, high-value outcomes.
- Commercial acumen, including a solid grasp of economic and financial principles to support business case development, budgeting, and financial reporting.
