Our menu includes market-fresh sashimi, sushi, share plates, robata dishes, and an Omakase experience under the guidance of Executive Chef Adam Lane.About the roleWe are looking for a motivated, talented, and energetic Sous Chef to bring expertise, attention to detail, and creativity to Yamagen.
The ideal candidate will have a team-first attitude, a passion for culinary excellence, and a drive to succeed in a fast-paced, award-winning environment.Position OverviewThe Sous Chef will bring innovative ideas to enhance guest experiences, manage food production efficiently, and ensure all food leaving the kitchen meets quality standards.Key responsibilitiesEnsure high-quality food production at all times.Check quality and accuracy of deliveries.Maintain detailed food and menu knowledge.Supervise food prep, rotation, and service requirements.Attend to guest needs promptly.Manage staffing rosters and delegate duties.Coordinate with Chefs for restaurant and banquet functions.Work with F & B Manager and outlet Supervisors for smooth operations.Follow standard recipes across outlets.Monitor stock rotation, ordering, and food costs.Maintain a clean and safe working environment.Hire, train, and supervise kitchen staff.Foster a productive, harmonious team environment.Maintain professional relationships with all departments.Experience and SkillsMinimum 2 years of experience in a Japanese restaurant environment.Benefits and PerksTeam member discounts from day one.50% off stays at EVT hotels.Discounted movie tickets, Moonlight, Gold Class, and Candy Bar offers.Seasonal savings at Thredbo.Opportunities for career growth within EVT.Note: This job posting appears active; no indications of expiration are present.
