About the role

The Collection and Asset Recovery Specialist will be responsible for any funds and assets that need to be recovered from Tyro merchants. This will mean tasks including (but not limited to) contacting customers regarding their failed billing, processing banking requests, recovering assets, handle incoming enquiries, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that Tyro's assets are prioritised in cases of liquidation or administration. You will also help identify process improvement opportunities and assist with any adhoc work required by the Customer Support leadership team.

General

**Responsibilities**:
- Handling inbound technical service and support requests- High volumes of outbound activity, following up on suspended accounts, negotiating mutually beneficial arrangement of payment for arrears and finalising repayment of debts- Processing any banking requests, default listings and fee write-offs and other ad hoc administrative tasks- Addressing any deregistered ACN's, defining the current state of the business and updating internal systems as required- Actioning garnishee orders - explaining to our merchants the obligation that Tyro has to the ATO and accommodating the merchant's circumstances- Managing at-risk merchants with our credit loans team and working with fraud and payments risk to mitigate incidents- Help build standard operating procedures, revise processes and contribute to risk identification

Skills and Experience Required- Customer centric with excellent customer service skills and friendly telephone manner- High performance mindset, being self-motivated, accountable and results driven- Must thrive working as an autonomous, individual contributor and simultaneously being an enthusiastic team player- Resilience, ability to maintain a friendly and professional manner when dealing with difficult situations and individuals- Ability to use creative problem solving and logic to address any complications- Excellent Verbal, written Communication skills and Meticulous attention to detail- Experience in Collections and Banking Products (Desirable)- Proficency in Microsoft Excel (Desirable)
