Job Title: Asset Recovery Specialist

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Asset Recovery Specialist. As a key member of our collections and recoveries department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the timely collection of outstanding customer payments.

You will be responsible for liaising with internal departments and external partners to identify arrears and develop strategies to minimize costs and optimize returns while maintaining excellent customer satisfaction.

Your day-to-day tasks will include communicating with debtors by telephone and in writing, monitoring payment behavior, evaluating credit risk, and categorizing debtors accordingly.

You will also make payment agreements, determine plans of approach, and ensure conditional payments. If necessary, legal action will be initiated.

In addition, you will communicate with debtor and internal/external stakeholders, report on development, and record debtor and arrears history in applicable systems.

Your Profile

To succeed in this role, you will need strong ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to organise and prioritise work to assist the C&R team in meeting daily, weekly and annual objectives.

You will also need a consultative approach to working with all stakeholders – team player, ability to respond or acquire knowledge to respond to internal and external customer requests promptly and correctly, and strong ability to share business and risk knowledge with other DLL members, in order to build a culture of risk management balanced with commercial objectives.

Degree or studies in accounting, finance, commerce or related field is preferred but not essential. Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
