Associate Professor/Professor Position in Surgery
This role involves providing academic leadership and fostering excellence in innovative teaching, research, and engagement within the discipline of surgery.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive high-quality surgical education and lead original and impactful research.
Contribute to curriculum design and delivery in alignment with UNSW's academic standards.
Mentor staff and students, supervise Higher Degree Research (HDR) candidates, and contribute to governance through active participation in committees and leadership groups.
Requirements:
At Level D:
Medical qualification registrable in New South Wales.
Specialist training in a surgical discipline and have a fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeon or equivalent.
A higher degree in a relevant discipline area is desirable as is an outstanding research record.
Leadership experience in a managerial role in a university or similar professional or clinical setting.
At Level E (in addition to the above):
A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
Evidence of achievement in leading innovation, driving educational strategic initiatives, and delivering exceptional student outcomes at all levels of study.
Substantial experience of course, program, and curriculum development at all professional levels.
