Our client are seeking an experienced and passionate Aboriginal Program Coordinator to join our team with in Local Government sector.
As the Aboriginal Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a range of initiatives to support and enhance the wellbeing of Aboriginal people in our local community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement programs and initiatives that promote the cultural, social and economic wellbeing of Aboriginal people in our local community.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Aboriginal individuals, families, communities and organizations to ensure effective collaboration and consultation on program development and delivery.
- Provide cultural guidance and support to our organization and stakeholders to ensure respectful and appropriate engagement with Aboriginal people and communities.
- Work collaboratively with other local government departments and external agencies to achieve positive outcomes for Aboriginal people in areas such as health, education, employment and housing.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and initiatives and provide regular reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop, deliver and evaluate programs services and actions, with a data-driven and people-focused approach, to achieve the outcomes expressed in the Eora Economic Development Plan, Reconciliation Action Plan
- Manager Grants and procurement opportunities
Qualifications and Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in program coordination, community development, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture, history, and contemporary issues affecting Aboriginal people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and work effectively with Aboriginal people and communities.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, non-government organisations and the private sector.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Relevant qualifications in community development, social work, or a related field are highly desirable.
