The South Eastern Centre Against Sexual Assault and Family Violence (SECASA), is a program of Monash Health and has the responsibility in the Southern Region of the Department of Families Fairness and Housing for:
- The provision and development of effective services to victim/survivors and associated people affected by sexual assault and family violence
- The provision and development of effective services for adolescents exhibiting sexually abusive behaviours
- The provision of public education and professional training on sexual assault and anti-violence issues
- Social planning and processes related to reducing societal violence
**A Day in the Life**
The Group Coordinator / Expressive Therapy Team Leader will lead the clinical operations of the SECASA Expressive Therapies Team, and will support the development of the Expressive Therapies Team to provide excellence in service delivery. The position will also provide leadership towards the development, evaluation and planning of all group work programs across the Service. As a member of the leadership team, this position will support operationalising SECASA's and Monash Health's strategic direction.
The Team Leader will have a strong emphasis on collaborative leadership, building and supporting a resilient team, and outstanding communication resulting in positive client outcomes.The position requires a constructive and collaborative approach to working with clients, their families and key agencies, within the scope of relevant legislation and professional guidelines.What you bring:
- A passion for expressive therapies (art, play, music) and an awareness of the important role such therapies play in the support, therapeutic counselling and recovery for victim survivors of sexual assault and family violence and working with clients exhibiting harmful sexual behaviours.
- An ability to plan, conduct and develop group work activities for SECASA in accordance with the Group Practice Framework already established.
- Provide direction, leadership and service development to a team of group therapists
- Provide clinical supervision and reflective practice to the Expressive Therapies team
- An ability to think creatively to advance the role of the Expressive Therapies therapeutic reach across the service
- Contribute to the development of in-house professional development opportunities relating to group work and or/ specialist therapies
- Contribute to development of own and others clinical practice across multidisciplinary teams
- Engage in continuing professional development through education and training
- Identify and/or develop new and emerging group work content that is evidence based and trauma informed
- Evaluate the efficacy and impact of therapeutic groups with clients of SECASA
**What you need**:
- A current qualification as a Health Professional (Art Therapist, Occupational Therapy, Social Work) at the Grade 3 level, including eligibility for national and/or state registration in the relevant discipline (where applicable)
- Additional post graduate qualifications in a relevant area of practice
