Thales is seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician to join our team. As part of our squad, you will play a crucial role in providing Level 2 on-site IS/IT support for all IT systems within scope of our Service Level Agreement (SLA). Your responsibilities will include assisting with desktop-related technical issues & supporting IT services, ensuring efficient operations.
**KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
As an Desktop Technician, you are accountable for:
- Comply with and assist in the enforcement of Thales Security Policies and Procedures
- Comply with all relevant company Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental policies, framework and work practices with the intent of preventing or minimising accidental exposures to self, colleagues, visitors and/or the environment and to ensure a safe work practises at all times.
- Identify and troubleshoot system problems in order to improve performance and reliability
**KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE**
To be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:
**ABOUT YOU**
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in a heavy customer focus position involving technical knowledge and supporting an organisations' products and services
- Time-management skills and the ability to establish reasonable and attainable SLA for resolution
- Strong proficiency with Windows desktop, server platform e.g - Active Directory, SOE & SCCM & Mobile technologies
- The ability to "step up" and work with senior leaders, as well as ability to provide onsite support to our users
- Ability to work both independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to prioritize and manage several workstreams and project rollouts efficiently
- Proven critical thinking and experience troubleshooting across a range of systems
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in the resolution of software and hardware issues
- Ability to troubleshoot computer hardware issues
- Troubleshooting and Installing Windows Operating Systems
- Ability to work in high volume fast paced environment with multiple stakeholders
- Flexible and reliable
- Eager to learn new skills
- Good problem solving and root cause analysis
- Good documentation skills
- Display passion, high performance, and a strong willingness to take ownership of tasks and responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of User & VIP Support and familiarity with ITIL methodology.
