Spring Street Grocer - The European

Spring Street Grocer at the top end of Melbourne's CBD is looking for a full-time manger.

A rare opportunity has come up for an experienced & dynamic full-time Manager to lead the team at Spring Street Grocer. This role will suit someone with high level food retail or a hospitality background who's passionate about fine food and offering exceptional customer service.

Spring Street Grocer offers the finest selection of grocery items and prepared take home meals, take-away coffee & panini bar, features a custom underground cheese maturation room and gelateria that churns fresh gelato daily.

This is a hands-on role that involves working across all areas of the business with a skilled team of cheese mongers and grocer staff, focusing on retail sales, as well as maintaining our high service standards to both in store and online customers.

A bit about the position:

- Manage the performance and training of all team members
- Maintain the reputation, high standards and culture of the venue
- Develop relations with new & long-term regular customers
- Prepare & manage FOH rosters
- Relationship building with all suppliers - Old and New
- Handle customer enquiries
- Overseeing daily operations
- Stock purchasing & Inventory control
- Managing wastage by working closely with Grocer chef

If you think the following points describe you, then please get in touch:

- Have at least 2 years previous experience in hospitality & food retail in a supervisor or management role
- Immaculate presentation
- A strong leader, ensuring the smooth running of every service.
- Patient, polite, responsible and respectful in the way you deal with all your guests and colleagues
- Can maintain quality of work and speed during busy periods
- An ongoing commitment to improving your product knowledge
- Physically fit to safely handle a range of products from different storage areas & cool rooms around our venue
- Experience working with retail POS system (Bepoz) and Lightyear but not essential.
