OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Stormwater Engineer Design (S7.11) to join the Asset Design team on a permanent, full-time basis.
This role contributes to creating a liveable, safe and sustainable Blacktown City through the design of stormwater infrastructure and catchment management across the North West Growth Area.Key ResponsibilitiesComplete allocated civil designs and tasks in accordance with professional engineering standardsAssist in providing input into strategic documents such as reviews of Local Environmental Plans (LEP), State Environmental Planning Policies (SEPP), Development Control Plans (DCPs), S7.11 Developer contributions plans and policiesAssist with the preparation of technical stormwater documents and provide technical expertise to stakeholdersEssential Qualifications and ExperienceDegree in Civil EngineeringAt least 5 years post-qualification experience in the survey, investigation and design of stormwater management infrastructure and cost estimatesDemonstrated experience in civil stormwater engineering with a focus on water sensitive urban designExperience in managing financial budgets with forecastingKnowledge of applicable legislation/regulationsAt least 5 years' experience with GIS packages and Microsoft Office; design experience with AutoCAD, 12D and water engineering applications such as DRAINS, HEC-RAS, XP-RAFTS, TUFLOW and MUSICStrong analytical and problem-solving skills relevant to stormwater, catchment and floodplain managementExcellent interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated commitment to customer service and ability to work in a teamCurrent class C driver's licenceDesirable QualificationsEngineers Australia Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) qualification and National Engineering Registration (NER)Experience in CM9, Technology One and CIARemuneration and BenefitsSalary and conditions in accordance with Blacktown City Council's Enterprise AgreementEntry level for this position starts at $2,252.09 per week35-hour working weekCar allowanceFlexitime arrangementEmployee benefits such as leave entitlements, 12% employer superannuation contribution, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts and social clubsSafety and CommitmentBlacktown City Council is committed to safety.
