Stormwater Design Specialist

As a Stormwater Design Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality stormwater models and designs. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Providing detailed stormwater designs to facilitate specification, costing, planning, and delivery of stormwater management systems in compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Liaising closely with internal teams, including engineering and production personnel, as part of a multidisciplinary national team.
  • Utilizing AutoCAD and MUSIC modeling software for design tasks, with training offered in MUSIC software.
  • Ensuring all specifications and designs comply with Local/State/federal codes and accepted engineering practices.
  • Maintaining active communication with contractors, engineers, surveyors, and government agencies regarding engineering, surveying, or construction issues.
  • Representing the company professionally at events, conferences, and client sites.
  • Developing a close working relationship with the Engineering Manager and the rest of the team.
  • Modeling and completing stormwater quality designs for the company's products and services.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 0-4 years of experience, with at least 2-3 years of engineering design skill experience in AutoCAD and, if possible, stormwater modeling software MUSIC (training offered).
  • Previous design experience.
  • Preferably experience in stormwater/wastewater projects.
  • A positive work attitude and a drive to succeed.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team player approach.
  • Ability to understand and follow complex written and oral instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to decipher information and employ strategies to appropriately problem solve.
  • Ability to clearly communicate information both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and methods, preferably as applicable to Storm Water Drainage Systems.
  • Knowledge of public works engineering and Storm Water Drainage System operations.
  • Ability to retrieve and understand current codes and regulatory standards governing regional engineering activities of stormwater construction, renovations, and maintenance projects.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with drafting software such as AutoCAD and water modeling tools like MUSIC.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with personnel, management, contractors, consultants, and clients, whether working in the office or remotely.
