This role is responsible for contributing to creating a liveable, safe and sustainable Blacktown City through the design of stormwater infrastructure and catchment management across the North West Growth Area.Key ResponsibilitiesComplete allocated civil designs and tasks in accordance with professional engineering standardsAssist in providing input into strategic documents such as a review of Local Environmental Plans (LEP), State Environmental Planning Policies (SEPP), Development control plans (DCPs) S7.11 Developer contribution plans and policiesAssist with the preparation of technical stormwater documents and provide technical expertise to stakeholdersJoin us in shaping the future of Blacktown City, where your expertise in stormwater design will help build a resilient, sustainable community.Essential Qualifications and ExperienceDegree in Civil EngineeringAt least 5 years post-qualification experience in the survey, investigation and design of stormwater management infrastructure and cost estimatesDemonstrated working experience in civil stormwater engineering with a focus on water sensitive urban designExperience in managing financial budgets with inclusion of forecastingKnowledge of applicable legislation/regulationsAt least 5 years' experience in GIS packages, computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications and design experience with AutoCAD, 12D and water engineering applications such as DRAINS, HEC-RAS, XP-RAFTS, TUFLOW and MUSICSound analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to determine and adapt management approaches for a broad range of stormwater, catchment and floodplain management situationsExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectivelyDemonstrated commitment to customer service and ability to work within a team environmentCurrent class C driver's licenceDesirableEngineers Australia Chartered Professional Engineering (CPEng) qualification and National Engineering Registration (NER)Experience in CM9, Technology One and CIARemuneration and BenefitsThe salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council's Enterprise Agreement.Entry level for this position starts at $2,252.09 per week35-hour working weekCar allowanceOpportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangementEmployee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 12% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.Our Commitment to SafetyBlacktown City Council is committed to safety.
