**Oriental Merchant **is a leading importer and distributor of authentic Asian groceries with brands that are familiar throughout Asia Pacific. Our brand has a strong national and global presence.

We are looking for our next payroll assistant to engage with our compensation and benefits portfolio, and to ensure payroll is processed timely and accurately. The portfolio may cover Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Japan and Canada, or other countries as the company further expands.

**You will be responsible for**:

- Accountable for ensuring all payroll transactions are processed timely and accurately
- Maintain payroll operations by strictly following all policies and procedures
- Developing compensation and benefits portfolio, including ad hoc operational reporting, survey, periodic audits as required
- Resolving payroll discrepancies
- Managing and processing pay of employees under workers compensation and liaising with insurer regarding reimbursements
- Adhere to employee payroll related queries
- Managing and maintaining of HRIS systems and payroll system
- Participate in salary and labour market surveys to determine prevailing pay rates and benefits
- Assist in HR management and other related tasks from time to time

**What you will need to be successful**:

- Full Australian working rights
- ** At least one year payroll experience in a similar setting**:

- ** Must be experienced in utilising ADP and MicrOpay software**:

- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Possess a strong mathematic ability
