**About the job**
The Satellite Engineering Manager will be accountable for the installation of land-based User Terminals (UT) to provide connectivity to a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites. This is a unique solution for enterprise and government in regional and remote Australia. It is the only time in the world that anyone has tried this at scale The UT's, consisting of dual parabolic terminals or flat panels, will be installed in a variety of locations including on the roof of buildings and as stand-alone installations on poles.
This role is responsible for the development of the site survey, installation and safety processes including the development of closed loop process that ensure adherence by the installation engineers. In collaboration with the customer, you will uncover work methods that drive efficiency, continuous improvement and customer service excellence.
Core responsibilities include:
- Site survey/inspection to ascertain scope of work to be completed and document
- SWMS and JSA development
- Risk analysis
- Liaison with key stakeholders
- Supervision and management of field work including the following:
- Antenna installation
- Rigging activities
- Running and termination of cables, including RG11 Co-axial cable from the UT installation location to the IT rack
- Installation of network devices (modem) within an IT Rack
- Structural assembly
- Setting up, commissioning, testing and troubleshooting installed devices
- Solving problems in relation to Network issues as they occur
- Troubleshooting, replacing defective equipment, fault finding
This role is a full time permanent opportunity and attracts a salary of up to $150K per annum + Super depending on experience.
**Traits you must have**
To be successful in securing this role, you will have the following experience:
- This is an opportunity for someone with extensive hands on experience, looking to make the next step in their career, into a management role. The opportunity you have been waiting for
- Minimum of 3 years working in a Senior role within the telecommunications industry including being responsible for site surveys (identifying gaps and solutions), associated documentation, WHS requirements, risk analysis and hazard identification
- Extensive experience communicating with key stakeholders at a senior level in relation to developing solutions
- Minimum of 3 years' + experience in Microwave or Fixed Wireless installation, integration, commissioning and rigging activities within the Telecommunications sector, taking accountability for installations and leading teams. Exposure to Rigging environments desirable
- People management experience
- Experience developing JSA's, SWMS and other WHS documentation/guidelines
- Experience installing antennas and or technology on rooftops and in standalone environments such as mobile base stations
- Strong customer focus with excellent attention to detail
- Mature approach to stakeholder management/communication
- High level problem solving skills
- Professional image with personal attributes of honesty, reliability and enthusiasm
