**About the role**
The EMS and Climate Change Specialist role involves implementing and maintaining an effective enterprise EMS including subsidiary systems. The role will work closely with the acting Environment Manager, the Environmental Compliance Manager, the HSE4me team and other business leaders to update the EMS and integrate with a new digital platform, HSE4me
**About you**
The position requires a high level of environment technical skills, problem solving business aptitude, self-motivation and people skills. You will need to be able to liaise with a range of staff with different technical competencies and responsibilities.
To be successful, you will have
- Relevant degree level tertiary qualification
- Extensive professional experience in environmental management and climate change
- Experience in identifying, reporting and management of environmental incidents; conducting root cause analyses and addressing root causes will be highly regarded.
- Understanding of the Environment Protection Amendment Act 2017
- A working knowledge of critical international and state based climate change policies and programs.
- A thorough understanding of climate change adaptation and mitigation approaches that are best practice to the water industry.
- Ability to think creatively about the way in which new practices and technology can be applied to provide solutions to environmental management.
- Project management skills
- A priority will be a proven track record in driving change throughout an organisation
