We seek an energetic and results focused Thoroughbreds Manager to join our growing thoroughbred horse stud and farming facility near Lancefield, 70km north of Melbourne.

Working in conjunction with the Assistant Manager Education and Pre-Training this role reports to the Managing Director WVF and General Manager (farming).

Principal management outcomes:

- Breeding of mares, assisting reproduction vets;
- Foaling down;
- Preparation of weanlings;
- Daily feeding of horses (coordinating customised food and supplementary nutrient preparation and distribution);
- Scheduling of work including farriers and vets;
- Record keeping (Ardex and Excel).

Skills and experience required:

- Previous experience working on a horse stud / farming;
- Good communication, record keeping and general management skills;
- Proficiency and cleanliness and keen observation skills;
- Ability to 'hit the ground running';
- Ability to assist when required in pre-training and education of young horses (riding) desirable, but not essential;
- Preparedness to work according to the farms seasonal needs to contribute to rotating week end work;
- Ability to foster a good team environment;
- Current drivers licence and experience towing horse floats.
