**In this role you will:

- Maintain effective security and intelligence systems and practices within the centre through robust testing processes and contingency testing.
- Ensuring the provision of custodial services in accordance with the Corrective Services Act 2006, and other key legislation.
- Maintain effective security systems and practices through robust practice review and contingency testing.
- Ensure automated security systems and security equipment throughout the facility are maintained and fully operational.
- Develop the centre's coordinated approach to emergency situations and the ensure the ongoing maintenance of effective offender security procedures and controls.
- Ensure compliance with legislation and Agency procedures for the management of the centre's security.
- Ensure appropriate access to information and files by relevant staff and approved agencies.
- Direct and lead the management team of the centre in a positive manner.
- Promote and support human resources and industrial relations processes and policies.
- Lead the management team in the preparation and implementation of the centre's workforce plan.
- Meet all the centre's duty of care obligations for staff, offenders, and the public in accordance with legislation and Agency procedures.
- Ensure workloads and work practices of staff contribute to effectiveness of the centre and the Agency.
- Promote and implement the Agency's employee performance management system within the centre.
- Appraise performance and provide feedback to direct reports and staff.
- Providing strong leadership and mentoring to the management team and staff of the correctional centre to ensure effective service delivery.
- Provide staff training and professional development opportunities to enhance capability across the centre.
- Proactively manage the work performance and personal conduct of employees in accordance with the responsibilities under the Public Sector Act.
- Maintain knowledge of human resource and industrial relations legislation, policies, and procedures relevant to managing staff.
- Maintain knowledge of contemporary management practices.
- Contribute to the Agency's strategic workforce plan.
- Lead the preparation and implementation of the centre's business plan.
- Ensure resources and equipment are provided to deliver services.
- Devise and implement strategies to respond to budget trends for the centre and monitor financial statements.
- Ensure resources and work environments are properly maintained and meet operational and WH&S requirements.
- Direct efficient and effective management of resources to ensure security and safety for staff and offenders.
- Contribute to the development of the Agency's budget, operational and strategic plans.
- Ensure the appropriate exchange of information with the Queensland Police Service and other relevant agencies to optimise offender management consistent with the highest standards of community safety.
- Oversee the establishment and implementation of protocols and procedures for external agencies in accordance with relevant legislation.
- Promote the activities of the centre and develop productive relationships with relevant community agencies to enhance the community's regard for the Agency.
- Ensure the timely provision of advice to relevant government agencies regarding offenders.
- Collaborate with community agencies to develop and deliver sustainable reparation, diversion, and rehabilitation activities.
