General Manager - South Region – Senior leadership role in Sunwater's Operations Leadership Team, reporting to the Executive General Manager of Operations.

Overview

Lead a diverse team by providing strategic direction to drive regional performance. Deliver key initiatives, shape operational strategies, and refine policies and processes to support Sunwater's business objectives. Champion cultural initiatives to ensure the South Region has a customer-focused, agile, and high-performing operating model.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure regional bulk water systems, industrial pipelines and irrigation systems are managed and operated safely and efficiently in line with shareholder and community expectations.
  • Deliver operational services in a sustainable and transparent manner that meets or exceeds corporate objectives and targets.
  • Ensure Sunwater complies with asset-related compliance requirements, including dam safety, and that obligations are understood and met by the South team.
  • Identify, assess, and manage risks related to Sunwater's regional operations and infrastructure, and develop mitigation strategies aligned with shareholder, Board, regulator, stakeholder, customer and community expectations.
  • Develop and implement regional strategies and plans to enhance Sunwater's financial position, respond to external changes, and position Sunwater for future opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Over 10 years of leadership experience in bulk water infrastructure, industrial pipelines, irrigation systems, or related sectors.
  • Deep industry insight and a proven track record of strategic oversight at senior level.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in management, engineering, business, or project management are highly desirable.
Required Capabilities
  • Strong Leadership Skills – drive a continuous improvement philosophy and sustainable business environment.
  • Strong Safety Leadership – foster outstanding safety leadership and cultural changes demonstrating Sunwater's commitment to safety.
