As a Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the technical vision, strategy, execution, and success of one of our core products, LawConnect. LawConnect is an AI-driven tool to enhance collaboration between lawyers and their clients, and to enable both to save hours of time and effort in reviewing, organising and preparing their matters for court hearings.

You will lead a team of skilled developers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software. This position requires a hands-on approach, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of AI and software development methodologies.

You will work closely with other development teams to ensure the interoperability of LawConnect with other LEAP Dev products and external offerings. You will lead a team of passionate engineers who rely on your guidance.

**What will you be working on as the LawConnect Development Manager**:

- **Technical Leadership**:

- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the development team.
- Define and drive the technical vision, strategy, and roadmap for LawConnect.
- **Team Management**:

- Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing development team.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.
- **Project Planning and Execution**:

- Collaborate with other stakeholders and company leaders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and resource allocation.
- **Development Process**:

- Implement and improve development processes to ensure efficient and effective software delivery.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the development team.
- **Quality Assurance**:

- Ensure the delivery of high-quality software through effective testing and quality assurance processes.
- Implement and maintain best practices for code reviews and testing.
- **Technology Stack**:

- Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in technology, particularly AI.
- Evaluate and recommend technology solutions that align with the product roadmap.
- **Cross-Functional Collaboration**:

- Work closely with product management, design, and other teams to ensure alignment on product goals and priorities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and prioritize product requirements.

**What experience do you need to be a Development Manager at LEAP Dev?**
- 15 years of experience in software development
- A strong knowledge and proven experience in web development
- fundamental practices like HTML/CSS, and build systems (WebPack, Vite, etc.)
- Strong experience with commercial modern C++ (14/17/20) development experience
- Strong experience with prominent web frameworks like React, Angular and Vue
- A strong experience in native desktop development (macOS, Windows, Linux)
- Commercial experience in back-end integration mechanisms like REST, GraphQL, WebSocket, and 'Server-Sent Events'
- Previous technical leadership experience with live demonstrable products
- Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Deep understanding of web rendering engines internals (WebKit, Gecko, Blink)
- Proven knowledge in web development best practices, debugging and optimisation
- A strong foundation in software design and development principles
- Solid experience in software engineering methodologies like Agile and Lean
- A strong knowledge and experience in document automation techniques to enterprise workflows, like PDF integration systems
