Bluestone is a well-established, high yield tin producer with a strong resource base supporting a mine life in excess of 10 years. The Renison mine is located on Tasmania's beautiful West Coast between the towns of Zeehan and Rosebery.

**About the role**

Working within the Capital Projects team at Bluestone Mines Tasmania Joint Ventures' Renison mine, the Underground Projects Specialist role will empower you to use your previous heavy industrial project management experience to deliver impactful outcomes and improvements for the business.

Collaborating with the other Project Specialists, the Mining Operations teams and reporting to the Manager Capital Projects, this role is ideal for someone with a demonstratable history of successfully delivering projects within a mining or heavy industrial setting.

You will be accountable for delivering a wide range of project across the underground operations, ensuring project delivery is done safely, on time, to budget and within the BMTJV Project Management System.

You will be involved in all stages of the project lifecycle, from initiation, development, execution and closeout. You will also be empowered to use your experience through continuous improvement of the Project Management System and to look for better ways of working. This role will interact with the Leadership Team and stakeholders from across the business.

Projects currently in execution and planning include the mine dewatering system upgrade, new primary ventilation fan installation, underground fibreoptic upgrade and underground workshop fitout.

**Core responsibilities**
- Ensure that projects are undertaken safely, undertake proactive safety assurance of contractors and BMTJV personnel and demonstrate personnel commitment to working safely.
- Ensure that projects are delivered in line with the schedule and budget.
- Work within the BMTJV Project Management System and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Assure that the requirements of the Contractor Management Procedures are implemented.
- Work proactively and collaboratively with stakeholders to define, develop and deliver project outcomes.
- Work collaboratively to identify opportunities for Continuous Improvement across the operation.

**About you**

You will have a tertiary education in an engineering discipline or equivalent, with a minimum of 8 years previous experience of delivering complex projects in mining, construction, heavy engineering or similar environments.

Have effective communication and people skills, allowing you to build collaborative relationships with colleagues and contractors. Be able and willing to mentor and support junior staff, imparting and demonstrating systematic project management discipline.

You will be experienced in following, improving and developing processes, motivated to look for better ways of working and willing and capable of communicating compelling need for change to stakeholders.
