Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Distribution Designer located in Tasmania, Australia. The Distribution Designer will be responsible for designing power distribution systems, creating project plans, and collaborating with engineers and technicians to ensure the efficient execution of projects. The designer will also maintain project documentation, perform site visits, and coordinate with clients to meet project requirements and deadlines.
We are also welcoming applications from lineworkers interested in transitioning into the distribution design space. Your hands-on field experience provides a strong foundation, making a successful career in design both achievable and rewarding.
Your Role Will Include:
- Overhead distribution design modelling (415V to 33kV)
- Underground distribution extensions
- Underground distribution network upgrades
- Site inspections including preparation of design packages for client approval
- Preparation of bills of materials and estimations
- Training and support of junior team members
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
- Applying local utility standards
- Demonstrating design innovation and cost optimization as part of the design process
- Scoping notes
- Survey work onsite
Qualifications and Skills:
- Advanced Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering; or
- Demonstrated experience with local power utilities
- Ability to work independently
- Experience in electrical design of distribution networks of 5 to 10years
- Lineworker with 5 to 10 years experience

- Must hold a current Driver's Licence
