Underground Operator - Nipper Job no: ******Work type: Permanent Full TimeLocation: Rosebery Mine We are MMG and we mine for progress MMG Rosebery Rosebery is an underground polymetallic base metal mine located in the township of Rosebery in Tasmania, Australia.
The mine is a deep, sub-level open stoping operation with complex mining conditions.
The Rosebery Mine has been at the heart of the Rosebery community since 1936 and is one of Tasmania's largest and oldest continuously operating, underground mines producing zinc, copper and lead concentrates, as well as gold doré.
It supports approximately 500 employees and their families, has a strong community focus and engages a wide range of local businesses from across Tasmania in its supply chain boosting the economy of the West Coast of Tasmania and beyond.
The mine has a strong future, with extensive exploration activities which have continued to grow the resource and require mine planning beyond 10 years of continued operation.
Underground Operator - Nipper Reporting to the Underground Shift Supervisor you will ensure that all aspects of operations are carried out safely and efficiently in accordance with Company and Legislative standards and procedures.
Key Accountabilities (however not limited to): Conducting pre-start safety checks on the mining equipment you are assigned to for the day.
Following shift plans to meet operational requirements Real-time communication with Mine Control.
Delivery and pick up of equipment such as tools, piping, services, and anything else that is needed for the smooth operation of the Underground Mine Removal of waste items from Underground workings to waste dumps.
Assisting Jumbo Operators with bolting and meshing as required Set up headings with bolts and mesh, and assist service crew when possible Ensure all pre-starts are completed and arrive fit for work for all rostered days Ensuring correct signage (warning/hazards) is used and maintained at all times according to site standards and procedures.
Ensuring good housekeeping standards are maintained at all times.

Conduct a Pre-Employment Medical and Drug & Alcohol screening and willingness to partake in Pre-Employment Background checks.
Experience in the operation of heavy earth moving equipment (desirable) Previous underground mining experience is desirable or experience in manufacturing or heavy industry.
