**Empathetic professional to train, support & inspire**
**the wonderful volunteers who accompany**
**children of all ages when they need to appear in Court.**
- Quals in Volunteer Management, Psychology, Social Work etc great but not essential
- Understanding of Queensland Criminal Justice System advantageous not crucial.
- Attractive $$$s + salary sacrifice. Brisbane-based

**_We are more interested in who you are and what you can do than in what you may have learned in any previous role..._**

Being called on to give evidence in Court - as a witness or a victim - is traumatic for
_anyone._ Imagine how harrowing it must be for a child. Especially one who doesn't have the support of a trained and compassionate adult to stand with them. This non-profit is about making sure this doesn't happen.

Through its unique Volunteer program, this long
- established, non-profit community organisation aims to ensure that everyone is supported through the legal system. And that means giving children from 3 to 17 years old the information and support they need to be able to offer their best evidence in Court - without undue stress.

**The people who give freely of themselves to stand with these children are all volunteers.**

And as their (paid) Coordinator, you will help these dedicated and invaluable volunteers in a myriad of ways. You'll train and support, educate, enthuse, and offer guidance across three main areas of responsibility - administration, trouble
- shooting (lots of things change very quickly) and debriefing.

Debriefing means being there for your vollies, especially after they've had a tough day - and there are plenty of those
- to listen, care, placate, suggest and encourage.

In this remarkable role, you need to be a person with deep and genuine empathy, a calm and unflappable approach: a practical, pragmatic problem solver with outstanding communications and people skills. Feeling deeply for other people, you know intrinsically what to say in any given situation but are able to always gently enforce your own boundaries.

As you help manage and supervise volunteer activities through continuous improvement measures, smart thinking and problem solving, you will be mindfully creating a common-sense best practice culture. The sense of community among all volunteers to the business will flourish as you celebrate successes - however small - recognise dedication and effort and create events that brings everyone together.

This is a very special and rewarding role for a solutions-driven champion of children with a light approach but a passion for social justice. You will need to have/acquire a Working with Children Blue Card.
