Add expected salary to your profile for insightsThe Workers Compensation Manager will coordinate and manage Workcover claims and facilitate effective return to work and rehabilitation processes in compliance with relevant legislation, ensuring injured employees receive timely support and accurate entitlements through collaboration with HR, Payroll and external providers.
This is a standalone position reporting directly to the Group HR Manager.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver efficient and effective injury management and return to work processes.Develop return to work procedures, including suitable duties lists, toolkits, and guides.Provide early intervention strategies to support timely return to work.Manage complex and escalated claims, including arranging independent medical assessments.Liaise with insurers, regulators, healthcare providers, and internal stakeholders.Provide advice and coaching to managers on return to work obligations and best practices.Partner with internal departments to ensure accurate injury-related wage payments.Collaborate with external providers to ensure appropriate return to work planning.Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and internal policies (e.g., Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013).
Conduct audits on return to work processes and recommend improvements.Keep up to date with legislation and recommend policy/procedural changes.Maintain and report on injury and compensation claims via management systems.Monitor and manage financial impact of claims, including wage step-downs and claim costs.Develop strategies to reduce claim costs and insurance premium impact.Participate in workers' compensation reviews and provide regular reports to management.About YouDemonstrated knowledge and experience in HSE, Injury Management and Return to Work case management including the ability to implement, maintain and monitor relevant systems.Experience in Return-to-Work procedures as legislated by the Authority Workers Compensation System.Well-developed interpersonal communication skills, including ability to collaborate and work with managers to bring about change.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including well developed report writing, and negotiation skills.High level proficiency in a range of computer-based applications including Microsoft Office programs Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Proven ability to coach, develop and share knowledge with others.Self-starter with initiative, working as part of a dynamic team, and a commitment to working respectfully with individuals.Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.Ability to comply with Company policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.Why work at the DGL Group?
