The Role
Hedland SHS is seeking a dedicated educational leader to join the senior leadership team as Program Coordinator – Vocational Education and Training (VET).
The successful applicant will promote and build on VET achievements with an innovative and strategic approach, with strong understanding of VET in a secondary context.
The role involves developing and maintaining partnerships with industry, small businesses, training providers and other organisations to maximise student opportunities.
The ideal candidate will guide the Career Practitioner in developing and implementing pathway planning to help students achieve their Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE).
The Program Coordinator – VET will lead, manage, and plan aspects of the school's VET, workplace learning, university enabling programs, endorsed programs and other training-related curriculum programs in collaboration with the Deputy Principal of Senior School and the VET and Careers Team.
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the role requires experience in leading staff within a VET team and, preferably, oversight of workplace learning.
The role includes curriculum leadership in VET and collaboration with the Executive Team and Senior School Team to support positive student outcomes.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, professional leadership of VET staff, and the ability to analyse student performance data for planning are valued.
The Program Coordinator – VET is responsible for the annual reflection, review, and operational planning cycle for this business area.
Other responsibilities may include pathway planning, guidance, and Year 10 course counselling.

Eligibility
To work with us, you must:
be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with work rights for the term of the appointment
hold registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia
obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start
consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start
