About the Role

The Specialist Harmful Sexual Behaviours (HSB) Program offers a specialist, trauma-safe and culturally safe response to children and young people displaying harmful sexual behaviours.

This holistic service provides healing, support, counselling, and a therapeutic response working with all those around the child or young person.

The Clinical Coordinator will supervise Counsellor and Aboriginal Outreach Support Worker positions for the Specialist HSB Program.

This is a full-time fixed term opportunity in Port Hedland, WA within our Specialist Harmful Sexual Behaviour Program.

The position reports to the Principal Practitioner WA/NT.

Key Selection Criteria
  • A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values, and an awareness of current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people, and their families.
  • Knowledge of and experience in working with children and young people impacted by trauma, and those who display harmful sexual behaviours.
  • A Master's level qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, Aboriginal Studies or a related field with clinical experience is preferred.
  • A combination of a relevant degree/certificate with Cultural knowledge and experience with Aboriginal healing practices will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated capacity in working collaboratively within a team and with internal and external stakeholders to foster strong working relationships.
